Klijo,
I put two holes in the back baffle of my muffler. Both are about 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter. The sound is better (deeper, with a more pronounced "thump" each time the enginge fires), but backfires sounds much sharper. It also helped speed the bike's top end (probably by increasing airflow) a little, but keep in mind that increased airflow will serve to make it leaner (I think) and hotter. If you do this, I recommend you also remove the white carb spacer to make it richer. I've done both and I think it sounds and perform much better. Still a little backfire, but not as sharp or often. Remember, this thing isn't a Harley, and its not going to sound like one. But it doesn't sound like my sister's moped now though....
